Verizon contracts 640 MW of renewables from Leeward

January 20 (Renewables Now) – US wi-fi service Verizon Communications Inc (NYSE:VZ) has agreed to buy the electrical energy produced by as much as 640 MW of renewable vitality crops underneath newly signed contracts with Leeward Renewable Power LLC.

Leeward, a portfolio firm of OMERS Infrastructure, introduced immediately that it signed 15-year renewable vitality buy agreements (REPAs) with Verizon tied to 2 wind and two photo voltaic initiatives at the moment underneath growth. These are the Blackford County Wind, Horizon Photo voltaic and White Wing Ranch Photo voltaic initiatives, in addition to an undisclosed wind scheme of 80 MW.
