Statkraft will get approval for 50-MW solar-storage undertaking in UK

April 15 (Renewables Now) – Norwegian energy producer Statkraft A/S has been granted approval to construct a 50-MW photo voltaic farm with storage in English countryside.

The corporate stated on Thursday it had acquired the permission from the planning committee for the English district of South Cambridgeshire to set its Stargoose Photo voltaic Vitality Farm undertaking on the Childerley Property. The accepted plan contains photo voltaic panel set up and batteries for vitality storage, stated Statkraft.

The corporate plans to plant grassland, woodland and hedgerows to encourage wildlife settlement on the website.

The Stargoose growth is a part of Statkraft’s dedication to put in 600 MW of renewables within the UK by 2025, the Norwegian energy firm added.
