EDPR indicators PPA with Meta for 156 MW of Texas photo voltaic

April 14 (Renewables Now) – EDP Renewables North America LLC (EDPR NA) has signed a long-term energy buy settlement (PPA) to ship 156 MW of Texan solar energy to social media big Meta Platforms Inc (NASDAQ:FB).

The contracted energy will come from the 240-MW Cattlemen Photo voltaic Park that EDPR NA will construct in Milam County, central Texas. The mission would require some USD 280 million (EUR 258.6m) in investments, renewables firm EDP Renovaveis SA (ELI:EDPR) mentioned.

Its North American unit EDPR NA developed the mission, and can construct, personal and function the photo voltaic farm. The plant is anticipated to be up and working in 2023.

The most recent is the second PPA that EDPR closed with Meta, after first placing an settlement for the procurement of 139 MW from the 200-MW Headwaters II Wind Farm in Indiana. Meta can be set to supply all the output from the 200-MW Randolph Photo voltaic Park to energy its information centre in Mesa, Arizona.
