
France’s Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) has signed a deal to provide glass packaging producer BA Glass Group with clear energy from a part of the 50.6-MW Garrido photo voltaic cluster in Portugal which has began feeding the primary kilowatt-hours into the grid.
The 15-year energy buy settlement (PPA) envisages the supply of electrical energy from two photo voltaic crops within the cluster with a mixed capability of 12.4 MW, Voltalia stated on Tuesday.

Garrido consists of 5 photo voltaic initiatives — the 23.8-MWp Alcochete, the 11.8-MWp Pinhal Novo, the 11.4-MWp Antuzede, the two.4-MWp Vale Serrao and 1.2-MWp Oliveira de Frades farms. When absolutely operational, the cluster ought to be capable of offset greater than 46,685 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions yearly.
