Argentina’s YPF Luz backs 100-MW photo voltaic mission with one other PPA

November 24 (Renewables Now) – Argentine energy producer YPF Luz stated that it has signed a five-year energy buy settlement (PPA) to provide photo voltaic vitality to Prestamp SAIC, a Buenos Aires-based producer of elements and equipment for motor autos and family home equipment.

The PPA will allow Prestamp to make use of renewables to fulfill the totality of its electrical energy demand, which equals some 240 MWh, YPF Luz stated.

Prestamp will get its provide from the 100-MW Zonda I photo voltaic farm that YPF Luz is currently building within the Argentine province of San Juan. The identical farm is under contract with two firms of the Toyota Group, which procured the output from a 1.5-MW portion of Zonda.

Zonda I is the primary of three 100-MW phases of the photo voltaic mission. One other section, called Tocota, that may increase the capability of the complicated to 500 MW, YPF Luz added.

The facility producer expects to inaugurate the primary section in early 2023.
